Example To Play Isle Of Wight Festival 2012

The rapper will perform on the opening day of the event.

Example is among the artists who have been announced to play the Isle Of Wight Festival next year.

The 'Stay Awake' rapper will play the main stage on the Friday of the event, performing shortly before Elbow.

The rapper took to his Twitter account to announce the news to his fans and is excited to be taking part in the festival.

"Anyone see the announcements for Isle Of Wight Festival 2012?? I'll be playing the main stage. Looking forward to that one," he tweeted.

The event takes place between 22^nd–24^th June next year and will be headlined by Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band.

Other performers set to feature at the event will be Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Biffy Clyro and The Vaccines.

Meanwhile, the rapper recently revealed that he has become a hit with the ladies since his rapid rise to fame.

Example releases his latest single, 'Midnight Run' this Sunday (4^th December).
