The 'Call My Name' singer received a cheeky dig from The X Factor USA judge on her 29th birthday.

Simon Cowell took his revenge on Cheryl Cole over the weekend following her public dig at his age on his birthday last year.

Back in 2011 Cheryl memorably hired a sky writer to write "Simon Cowell is 52 today! Ha ha ha love Cheryl" above his Beverly Hills home, and the X Factor USA judge played Cheryl at her own game on Saturday (30th June) for her 29th birthday celebrations.

Simon hired his own sky writer to pen the message, "Cheryl - Congratulations. You're 30 next year! Ha ha ha Love Simon" above the Las Vegas hotel where she was staying in while celebrating in the city.

The 'Call My Name' singer spent several days in Las Vegas last week with her mentor and friend will.i.am, as well as some of her band mates in Girls Aloud, and tweeted fans on Sunday to say how much fun she had been having there.

"#DearVegas you win!! I officially bow down… It wasn't a knock out i just took a graceful seat!" Cheryl tweeted on Sunday (1st July). "I came I saw YOU conquered #isaluteyou.."

Cheryl Cole launched her brand new album 'A Million Lights' in the UK last month and has been shooting the music video for her next single 'Under The Sun' ahead of its official release.
