Mum And Daughter Run Down At Catterick

A woman in her 60s has been arrested after a mother and daughter were knocked down by a car at Catterick Garrison.

They were hit on a pelican crossing near Darlington College at about 6pm on Saturday.

The 40-year-old woman and six-year-old girl, who live locally, were crossing the road with a group of other people when they were hit by a blue VW Polo.

The woman has serious head injuries and is described as poorly but stable and her daughter has serious facial injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward or anyone who recalls seeing a blue VW Polo in the area prior to the collision on Saturday evening.
