Adam Levine And Justin Bieber Lead People's Choice Awards Nominations

The 'Maroon 5' frontman has six nods in total while Canadian superstar Justin has five to his name.

Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber lead the newly announced People's Choice Awards nominations, which were announced this week ahead of the ceremony in January 2013.

Adam Levine scored six People's Choice nominations in total, across his work with 'Moves Like Jagger' band Maroon 5 and judging on The Voice US, while 'Boyfriend' singer Justin Bieber has been nominated in five different categories.

Maroon 5 have been nominated for Favourite Band, Favourite Video for 'Payphone', Favourite Album for 'Overexposed' and Favourite Song with their current US Billboard Hot 100 number one 'One More Night'.

American Horror Story star Adam is also up for Favourite Celebrity Judge as well as Favourite Competition TV Show for The Voice US, which also stars Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and country star Blake Shelton.

Justin Bieber has been nominated for Favourite Male Artist, opposite pop peers including Usher and Chris Brown, as well as Favourite Pop Artist, Favourite Album for 'Believe', Favourite Music Video for 'Boyfriend' and Favourite Music Fan Following.

The Favourite Breakout Artist category includes some of the biggest new artist to have hit the US over the past year including The Wanted, One Direction, Fun. and Carly Rae Jepsen.

'Live While We're Young' singers One Direction are also up for Favourite Song for "what Makes You Beautiful', Favourite Album for their 2011 release 'Up All Night' and Favourite Music Fan Following.

The latter category sees Justin's Beliebers, One Direction's Directioners, Katy Perry's KatyCats, Demi Lovato's Lovatics and Selena Gomez's Selenators facing off in a battle of the fans.

The People's Choice Awards is set to take place on 9th January
