Labrinth: "Scones please"

Labrinth is getting ready to take to the stage for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball this Sunday.

The "Let the Sun Shine" star will be performing on the same bill as mate and Pass Out collaborator Tinie Tempah and the likes of Kylie, Akon and JLS.

On Tuesday night, the Hackney singer performed at MTV’s Brand New for 2011 gig at Koko which also featured a headline performance from Tinie. We caught up with Labrinth after the gig and asked him how he was feeling about performing at the Jingle Bell Ball?

"I’m very excited about that one. Words cannot explain how I feel about it, I think I’m going to have a lot of fun at it." So what has Lab got planned for his set? "Ha, you can’t ask me that. No, let’s just say Sunshine is going to end with a big bang. I can't tell you what it is but it’s going to be huge and fun.”  So who’s he looking forward to seeing? “Obviously my boy Tinie Tempah but there’s too many mention, they’re all sick man."

And we weren’t expecting this answer. We asked Labrinth if there’s anything he wants on his rider, backstage in his dressing room. "Just make sure there’ are scones in my room. I love scones man!"  Really?! “Yeah, someone confused the word scones for stones thinking I wanted alcohol but no, I mean classic scones. I don’t need jam or butter as I just eat them dry. I know it’s really weird, but I just love em.”
