The comedian jokes that he is finding his divorce difficult due to the amount of admin involved.
Russell Brand has opened up on his marriage breakdown to Katy Perry as he confessed that it "did work out" and that they were perfect for each other during the amount of time they were together.
The comedian and star of the new Tom Cruise film Rock Of Ages told ITV's Lorraine that he has accepted the facts of his relationship and still "loves" the 'I Kissed A Girl' singer.
"When I was married? Well it did work out in a way because you are married for some time, and that's really good, and then you're not married, and that’s really good," he admitted. "You just have to have acceptance of things. She is a person that I love, but now this is a new time."
The Scottish chat show host revealed she thought the couple were ideal – something which Russell agreed and admitted it was just meant for the time they spent together.
"Well we were for that amount of time, and now this is a new time," he said.
The only thing he is finding difficulty with now is the paperwork that comes with the divorce.
He continued: "I suppose a divorce is difficult isn't it, because of the admin! There's a lot of admin."
Katy is due to reveal details on her marriage with the star in her upcoming 3D concert movie Part Of Me and recently told Ellen DeGeneres that details will be tastefully unveiled during the film.
The singer was also recently at Capital FM's Summertime Ball where she performed at Wembley Stadium alongside the likes of Justin Bieber, Usher and Coldplay.
