Katy Perry's Dad: "There Are No Hard Feelings Towards Russell Brand"

The 'Part Of Me' singer's father says his daughter's divorce was down to the couple spending so much time apart.

Katy Perry's father Keith Hudson has confessed that the family are still on good terms with Russell Brand despite the upcoming divorce of his daughter and the comedian.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer and the British star announced details of their marriage breakdown after 14 months together over the festive period.

Keith told US magazine: "There are no hard feelings towards Russell. I just received a text from him the other day in fact. He is a wonderful and smart guy."

He put the reason behind the divorce down to the fact the couple were spending so much time apart but said Katy is "healthy and happy now".

He added: "Her career got really busy and she did not get to see that much of Russell -  it was just one of those things. She is healthy and happy now!"

The pastor also spoke about rumours linking his daughter with French model Baptiste Giabiconi – who Katy has been linked with since Paris Fashion Week.

He simply stated: "I don't know anything about this male model guy."

Katy and Russell have both kept fairly silent on the divorce with the 'Teenage Dream' singer earlier in the year stating that "no one" speaks for her - including her family.

Meanwhile, the singer has announced plans to star in her first 3D concert movie which is set to hit the big screen this summer.
