The 'California Gurls' singer tells Capital she may reveal some dark secrets in her next record.

Katy Perry has teased the first details about her upcoming third studio album and says she wants her next record to be like the 'black box" of her life.

The 'Part Of Me' star is preparing to start writing new material for the follow-up to her 2010 sophomore release 'Teenage Dream', and has hinted that the album may be about some of her biggest secrets.

"I would love to just let it be the black box of who I am," Katy told Capital FM this week, ahead of premiering her documentary film Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D in the UK.

After speaking with Capital on Tuesday (5th July), Katy stepped out in London's Leicester Square to launch her 3D cinematic epic, after stopping to meet and greet some of the hundreds of fans who had turned out to see her at the pink carpet film premiere.

Katy has said she expects her new album to be "much darker" than 'Teenage Dream', after all of the personal drama surrounding her split from husband Russell Brand, and suggested it was "inevitable" some of those experiences would find their way into her songwriting.

Despite predicting a darker third outing Katy was quoted earlier today as promising that her next record will not all be focused on heartbreak, and insisting she is in "a good place" at the moment.
