The 'Firework' singer speaks to Capital about last night's MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam.
Katy Perry has spoken to Capital about her performance at the MTV EMAs 2013 and said it was a representation of what she is trying to achieve with her music.
The US star was seen on a huge maypole-like structure before flying in the air wearing a mirror dress – shining light around the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
"Well the performance was inspired by the maypole dance. The dance that people do around the poles and they weave these beautiful colours in and out and I was a maypole," she told Capital. "At the end of it, it was kind of like I was bound and then I was set free and the light hit me and I got to shine all of that light into the audience.
