Katy Perry Admits She Is Still "Madly In Love" With Ex-Boyfriend John Mayer

The 'Teenage Dream' singer described the US star as having a "beautiful mind" but a "tortured soul".

Katy Perry says although her relationship with John Mayer is over she is still "madly in love" with the US singer-songwriter.

The former couple split earlier this year after dating on and off since summer 2012, and Katy says the 'Your Body Is A Wonderland' singer has a "beautiful mind".

"I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him," the 'Firework' reveals in the new issue of Vogue US. "All I can say about that relationship is that he's got a beautiful mind. 

"Beautiful mind, tortured soul," she explained, before adding: "I do have to future out why I am attracted to these broken birds."

In the same interview Katy also opened up about her split from ex-husband Russell Brand and says he didn't like her being "the boss" by being out on tour all the time, and revealed he hasn't contacted her since texting to say he wanted a divorce in December 2011.

Over the past month rumours have emerged that Katy is now dating Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson, after they were spotted attending a Bjork concert together out in California.

Katy Perry is now hard at work on her third studio album, expected out later this year.
