The 'One That Got Away' singer came under criticism for her hosting role by her soon to be divorced husband.

Katy Perry was apparently left upset following reports that Russell Brand criticised her performance on US TV sketch show Saturday Night Live last month.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' star took to the hosting role for the first time and even reportedly sought advice from her husband before appearing on the show.

"He told her that she wasn't that funny," an insider told US Weekly magazine, before adding: "That really hurt."

The same source revealed that the comedian was less than supportive of his wife when he watched the final date of her 'California Dreams' world tour recently.

"He was totally uninterested and seemed annoyed he was there. I don't think he sat through one song," they added.

Meanwhile, Katy is rumoured to be penning lyrics for new songs based on her marriage breakdown with the British star which could feature on an upcoming new album.
