The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer's father tells paparazzi followers that he is unable to divulge any details of his daughter's marriage breakdown.

Katy Perry's father has informed the media that he is unable to discuss his daughter's impending divorce to comedian Russell Brand.

Keith Hudson was out shopping in California when he was approached by paparazzi who wanted to ask questions of Katy's marriage break-up.

He told TMZ: "I can't talk... I can't talk to you. Sorry about that."

The 'California Gurls' singer and Russell announced their divorce last week after a total of 14 months of marriage together following months of speculation that the marriage was nearing its end.

Meanwhile, close friend Rihanna has been reportedly offering a shoulder to cry on for the American singer who was also spotted enjoying the New Year's celebrations with friends last Saturday night (31st December).
