The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer has apparently become frustrated at the musicians lack of commitment.
Katy Perry and John Mayer's rumoured on/off relationship has apparently come to an end after the 'Part Of Me' singer called time on the romance.
The US star was reported to have become upset with the blues-pop man's failure to commit after the pair started dating in early August.
"John just can't commit, and he kept luring Katy back with promises that was going to change, but then he didn't," a source told Radar Online.
The pair were first seen together shortly after Katy finalised her divorce from comedian Russell Brand.
"Katy was pretty crazy about him, so she kept giving him another chance," added the insider. "John liked Katy, so he wanted to keep her in his life, but it just wasn't up to Katy's standards."
The source continued: "She needs the guy to be on board 100 per cent and she was sick of John disappearing for five days at a time, then booty calling her, then
straightening up and treating her well, only to go back to his old behaviour a few days later."

The two, who have yet to comment on their relationship, have been rumoured to split up before.
"Finally she was like 'lose my number'," the source added.
Katy has also been linked with Florence & The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd this year as well as male model Baptiste Giabiconi.
Meanwhile, Katy performed at a special fundraiser for US President Barack Obama last night (7th October).
The 'Firework' singer was also seen recently watching teen star Justin Bieber as he performed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
