Jay-Z and Kanye take over New York

Jay-Z and Kanye West have hired an entire floor of a New York hotel whilst recording their joint album.

The two rappers are collaborating on forthcoming album 'Watch The Throne' and recorded a number of songs in their room at  New York's Mercer Hotel.

A source told the New York Times: 'They took over at least one whole floor and moved in their equipment, which may have annoyed some of the guests.'
