A councilor from the town says he would like rapper to visit when the festive lights gets switched on later this week.
Example has been invited to the Christmas lights switch-on in Wigan after his feud with the town.
The rapper hit the headlines last week when he claimed that the majority of the abuse he received on Twitter came from people in Wigan.
The 'Say Nothing' star's comments made the front page of the town's Wigan Evening Post newspaper, which said he had managed to "insult" the whole town.
Now councilor Chris Ready, who last week said that "maybe the rapper needs rapping", has extended an invitation to Example to visit the town on Thursday (15th November).
"We'd like him to see Wigan as it is and not as he perceives it. I'm sure he will change his mind once I have taken him around, I will buy him a pint and a pie!" he told the newspaper.
Example's comments about Wigan made the front page of the Evening Post:
"I will also arrange for him to see the Mayor, Coun Myra Whiteside, as he mentioned the Mayor of Wigan in one of his tweets.
"I'm sure that we will all give him a warm welcome and I've still never heard him rap so I will look forward to that. If he wants to do a Wigan rap that will be brilliant."
Example is currently preparing to release his latest album 'The Evolution Of Man' later this month.
The album will arrive ahead of his performance at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball in December.
