The 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' rapper says also says it was an honour to attend the annual awards show.
Example says he feels "in a good place" after having time off to work on his second studio album.
The 'Midnight Run' rapper is currently working on the follow-up to 2011's 'Playing In the Shadows', and revealed he is "really happy" right now while attending the BRIT Awards 2012 yesterday (21st February) at London's O2 Arena.
"I'm good. I've had two months in the sun. I"m in a really good place," Example told Capital FM's showbiz reporter Kevin Hughes. "As people can tell from the lyrics in my songs I'm usually in a bit of a bad place but I'm really happy at the moment.
"I've got a nice girlfriend, I'm having a lot of time to myself, a lot of resting."
The 'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' rapper admitted that although he has been cynical about award shows in the past, he was enjoying being a part of the BRITs 2012.
"I've been a bit cynical about awards in the past. As people know I'm quite outspoken about these things, but quite frankly it's an honour to be in the presence of so many talented people."
He added: "I idolize a lot of the people here actually. People like Blur and Noel Gallagher and Coldplay."
