The 'Don't Judge Me' singer speaks about his former girlfriend and the video that announced his love for the Bajan star.
Chris Brown has spoken about the moment he dumped ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran to rekindle his romance with Rihanna and said he "had to be brutal".
The 'Turn Up The Music' star released a video last year which declared his love for both females and what became the start of rumours he was getting back together with the Bajan star.
"I wanted to be more of a man," he told US station Hot 97. "Me being young, even with relationships in the past, I did a lot of lying, I did everything just to make sure nobody gets hurt in the process."
At the time, the news came as a shock to Karrueche, who tweeted her feelings about the break up.
"All I am saying is... You don't mess with people's genuine feelings. You just don't!" she tweeted.
The R&B star admitted he told both love interests about the video he was releasing and said no one can criticize him for being honest.
"I just don't feel it's necessary anymore in my life. Nobody can hate me for being honest. I had to just be brutal," he clarified. "I told both of them that the video was coming out."
Chris and Rihanna have both been speaking openly about their relationship in recent weeks and have been spotted at various public events together.
It has also been rumoured the pair are plotting a summer wedding and the 'Talk That Talk' star has revealed her plans to start a family in the next five years.
The couple have also worked on a new collaboration for the 'Fine China' star's new album 'X'.
