The 'Parachute' singer's manager Will.i.am had apparently hinted at the singer's return to the show.
Reports of Cheryl Cole's dramatic return to The X Factor judging panel on next year's series have been quashed by the star's spokesperson.
The Daily Mirror claimed this week that they had spoken to the singer's manager Will.i.am, who confirmed rumours that she would be making her return to the show.
However, a closed friend for the singer has today (11th December) admitted such claims are completely false.
"Cheryl really enjoyed her time on the show but she has moved on," they said. "She had three really good years and wants to leave it there."
A spokesperson for the singer also confirmed: "Cheryl has no plans to return."
Cheryl was sacked from the US version of the show in early 2011 and made her first appearance on the show during the judge's house phase of the 2012 UK completion after joining Take That star Gary Barlow.

Following a ratings slump on the latest series, it was rumoured Simon Cowell was planning on a complete overhaul of the show's judging panel – wanting to offer Cheryl the position of head judge.
Meanwhile, Cheryl was back on stage with her Girls Aloud bandmates this past weekend and performed a solo set at the Jingle Bell Ball 2012.
She and the girl group will head out on their reunion arena tour in early 2013.
