Cheryl Cole's US X Factor hopes dashed by J-Lo

Cheryl Cole's hopes of becoming a judge on the US version of The X Factor have been hit after Jennifer Lopez admitted she knows 'little about her'.

The American Idol judge made the admission in an interview with Fabulous magazine.

'Somebody mentioned [Cheryl] to me yesterday,' J-Lo said.

'She is a singer right? I don't know much about her and I don't know her music. But I would be happy to learn about it.'

According to reports, executives of the US version of The X Factor are worried Cole is not high profile enough.

So far Cowell has only named one judge - record executive and music producer Antonio 'LA' Reid.
