The 'Parachutes' singer has defended her choice of outfit on her US X Factor debut.
Cheryl Cole has hit out at the critics who slammed the outfit she wore during her debut The X Factor USA judge appearance.
The Girls Aloud star donned a bright orange dress and purple trousers on the American version of the series and the outfit has been the subject of harsh criticism ever since.
Talking to The Daily Telegraph, the 'Messy Little Raindrops' singer defended her choice of attire and insisted that she in fact instigated a new fashion trend.
She explained: "I'm not being funny, but everybody else started wearing orange and purple. It's a fact," before adding: "I love those trousers. I don't give a s**t if everybody else didn't like them."
The singer also recently revealed that she is fascinated by Lady Gaga's approach to fashion.
Meanwhile, Cheryl is currently finishing off work on her third studio album ready for a 2012 release.
