The 'Heartbreaker' rapper was surprised by the Hollywood actor's singing talent at a recent birthday party.
Will.i.am has named actor Robert Downey Jr. as someone he would love to collaborate with in the future.
The Black Eyed Peas rapper said the Iron Man star surprised him with impressive vocal skills at a recent event after he took to the stage for an impromptu performance.
"I would like to work with Robert Downey Jr. That guy sings," Will.i.am revealed. "I was at this thing at a 60th birthday party in New York.
"I did the show, it was cool, and then I'm sitting in the audience watching, and I was like 'Who is that singing?" he told Access Hollywood Live, before explaining that it had been Robert on the microphone.
"I told him, 'You were so crazy, super-fresh, with it. Dumbalicious. He's got crazy gymnastic skills with the vocals.
The 'Don't Stop The Party' rapper premiered his new music video for 'T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)' in December ahead of the single's official release in February.
Will.i.am is expected to release his fourth studio album '#willpower' later this year.
