When is Lady Gaga dropping her new album? Here's everything you need to know about LG7 from its release date to tracklist.

In November 2023, 'Bad Romance' singer Lady Gaga sparked LG7 rumours after she was papped leaving a restaurant with Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The pair were carrying huge folders under their arms and it smelt like new music.

Then Gaga confirmed the rumours in a series of Instagram posts where she was seen working over a piano with the caption: 'Tik tok tik tok'

Next she dropped a major clue in her Gaga Chromatica Ball film premiere in LA this May. And after a mega Olympics Opening Ceremony performance she treated her French fans to snippets of her upcoming album.

Although she has dropped some collaborations and an anniversary album in recent years, Gaga hasn't released a new album since 'Chromatica' in 2020 and this recent hiatus has her fans itching for new music.

So here's everything we know about LG7 - and spoiler alert we have news on when the first single is coming!

Is Lady Gaga releasing new music?

Yep, LG7 is on it's way. At the end of the Gaga Chromatica Ball film premiere in LA Lady Gaga confirmed her seventh studio album was on its when when the movie ended and a brand new song played over the words, “LG7. Gaga returns."

Lady Gaga teased new music earlier in the year when she shared pictures teasing her working in the studio. In a couple of posts on Instagram the 'Born This Way' singer is seen working over a piano. She captioned one of the posts: 'Tik tok tik tok.'

This came after rumours of new music emerged back in November 2023. Fans were convinced that Gaga was working on new music after she left a restaurant with singer and music producer will.i.am carrying large folders. The pair worked on her ARTPOP song 'Fashion!' in 2013, so it's very likely will.i.am has helped her with this upcoming album.

As well as being the founder of the Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am is a songwriter and producer who has worked with the likes of Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna - to name a few.

This is a much welcomed return to music from the star who has recently been focused on her acting career. After the success of her role in A The Star Is Born Gaga went on to star in American Horror Story and now she is playing Harley Quinn in the sequel to Todd Phillips' Joker.

When is Lady Gaga's new album coming out?

Gaga is yet to release a date for LG7's drop but she has revealed that the first single of the album is coming out in October.

While in Venice for the film festival which will premiere her new film Joker: Folie à Deux, Gaga shared on her Instagram a schedule with dates and times on it.

And at the bottom it read 'Date Importanti' with two dates:

04 October: Joker: Folie à Deux in theatres

XX October: LG7 first single

So the release date is yet to be released but given the order of the list it might be coming after the Joker sequel hits cinemas.

While she was in Paris she shared some music with fans. Stood in the sun-roof of her car, Gaga played out some of her songs to fans and from what was played it looks like LG7 is going to be a rock album.

What is the tracklist for LG7?

We have no clues as to what will be on the tracklist for Lady Gaga's new album but when she announced that she was returning she teased a brand new song.

The lyrics of the new song heard at the Gaga Chromatica Ball film premiere were: Dance in the shadow of the night

During her interview for her Vogue cover, Gaga did reveal some more about her upcoming music. One of the songs on her album was described as "intense and ominous—an old-school Gaga banger, unsettling but also buoyant".

She said the song was her fiancé's idea, explaining: “Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record. He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music.’ ”

Michael told Vogue: “Like anyone would do for the person they love, I encouraged her to lean in to the joy of it. On the Chromatica tour, I saw a fire in her; I wanted to help her keep that alive all the time and just start making music that made her happy.”
