Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star to release 'green shade' in new Mini Controversy palette
23 November 2019, 14:33
The green shade - which is called Put It Back! - will be released in a new version of the Mini Controversy palette and as a single shade.
Aaaaaaand, it's done. Shane Dawson released the final episode of his Jeffree Star documentary series last night (Nov 22) and boy, it was a wild ride.
The final episode of this whole saga showed a small amount of reactive footage from the James Charles and Tati Westbrook 'dramageddon' alongside clips of the backlash over Shane not including it. The rest of the episode gave us an inside look at what went down on the dramatic launch day of the Conspiracy collection.

On launch day, Jeffree's Shopify website crashed and customers struggled to get on the site. In the video, it's revealed that 2.5 MILLION people were trying to check out with products, causing the site to completely crash. Because of the chaos, Jeffree's team were not even able to put up all the products in the collection. 3 hours after the site went live, Jeffree discovered that no Mini Controversy palettes had been sold yet.
At the end of the episode, Shane and Jeffree have revealed that they will be releasing a brand new edition of the Mini Controversy palette - and it will, after popular demand, include that very popular 'unnamed green shade.'
"No brand has ever listened to the customer or fixed or added or changed something that's already existing and then put it out," said Jeffree. "I figured we'd give the mini a little revision and... HI!"
Showing off the product, he said: "The world wants the green shade! Are we not gonna give you the green shade?"
The internet absolutely lost it when the green shade was revealed for the first time in Shane's doc and then they absolutely lost it again when it was revealed that it would not feature in either of the final palettes. A petition was even set up by fans to get them to release the shade.
And now, we're finally getting it. The shade name? 'Put It Back!'
Judging by what was shown in the episode, the new shade layout for the second Mini controversy palette will be: Exposed, Diet Root Beer, My Boyfriend's Purse, Controversy, Put It Back!, My Apology, Flat Earth, Cancelled and The Simulation.
Jeffree also mentioned switching up the rainbow holographic colours on the front of the packaging to green to reflect the new addition.
Put It Back! will also be available to buy as a single shade too.
While it's not been confirmed (yet), Shane also hinted at a second collection with Jeffree during his Instagram live. Speaking about taking on all the feedback from people who have been reviewing the collection, Shane said: "I want the criticism, I want to learn... Whatever we do next, I really just want it to be like, even better. I'm so invested in it."
Until then, we'll all just have to sit and wait patiently for the big restock, which is set to happen around March 2020.
