The 'Young' singer says there is a "real mix" of sounds on her highly anticipated first record.

Tulisa Contostavlos has promised a range of different musical genres on her debut album and says the record is best described by the word "variety".

The X Factor judge has been teasing her first solo release for several months, after working on the album in America for much of this year, and has now revealed the album boasts many different sounding songs from her lead single 'Young'.

"I think fans can expect a wide range of music," Tulisa told Capitalfm.com. "For me, I didn't want it to all be the same sound.

"You're going to have a track for every mood," the 'Young' singer explained. "I want it to be like a journey so you'll have everything from if you want to party on a night out, to big ballads if you've broken up with a boyfriend to more UK urban music."

She added: "There's a real mix on there. So variety would be the word."

The 23 year-old singer confirmed earlier this month that she will be back on The X Factor when the ITV1 show returns this summer.

Tulisa Contostavlos will release her first solo single 'Young' on 18th May.
