The X Factor judge reveals Cheryl contacted her following the recent press coverage of her private life.

Tulisa Contostavlos has said she will always regard Cheryl Cole as the nation's sweetheart.

The N-Dubz star replaced the Girls Aloud singer on The X Factor judging panel last year, but said she had no plans to steal her crown as one of the country's favourite celebrities and instead was happy to be seen as a "rebel".

She said: "When people say I'm the new 'nation's sweetheart' I'm like, 'No! That role will always belong to Cheryl!' I've become the nation's little rebel."

Tulisa also told Daily Mirror that Cheryl had been in touch with her following the recent press coverage of her private life.

"I actually had a really nice text from her after my 'hoo-hah' a couple of weeks ago, offering her support," she said.

Meanwhile, Tulisa has been speaking to Capital FM about her Vodafone Big Top 40 number one single 'Young' and revealed that she was in two minds about releasing it as her debut solo track.

Cheryl released the video for her new single 'Call My Name' earlier this week.
