Shakira has pledged to help improve the welfare of children in Brazil.
The singer met with the country's President Dilma Rousseff to discuss plans to help benefit kids in their early years before signing a guitar for the Alas Foundation's aid efforts, reports the Associated Press.
'Brazil is a leading country in the region and it would be very important to be able to work together so that Latin American children might have better opportunities,' she said.
Shakira is in the country for a series of shows as part of her Pop Music Festival tour.
It is due to wrap up this weekend in Sao Paolo where she will perform in the Morumbi soccer stadium.
