The 'Big Hoops' singer has promised an 'incredibly fun' sound for her latest studio album.
Nelly Furtado revealed she is incredibly proud of her new album 'The Spirit Indestructible' and can't wait for fans to hear the record later this year.
The 'Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)' singer is preparing to launch her fifth studio album in September, and says she was in a "really positive" state of mind while recording the follow-up to her 2009 Spanish-language album 'Mi Plan'.
"I'm really proud of it, I worked really hard on it," Nelly revealed to Rolling Stone this month. "It's been about two or three years in the making.
"Usually when you spend that much time it does end up being something you're quite proud of," the singer explained. "I think it's important to take breaks in between albums, to live life, to experience things, because my albums are really personal."
The 'Say It Right' singer went on to reveal that fans can expect an "incredibly fun' record with her latest album release.
"It's sort of a juxtaposition of things, like playful vocals with really heavy beats, there's this innocence along with this sort of wisdom in a lot of the themes," she added. "I was in a really positive state of mind when I did these tracks so I'm super, super excited to be able to share these with people."
Nelly previously said she enjoys taking a break in between recording her albums to ensure she can make music until she is 80 years old.
Nelly Furtado's new single 'Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)' is out now and her album 'The Spirit Indestructible' is due out 18th September.
