The former One Direction star revealed the support he received from his X Factor mentor.
Louis Tomlinson has revealed Simon Cowell was his rock following the tragic death of his mother, Johannah Deakin, in December 2016 after a lengthy battle with leukaemia.
While Louis has the X Factor and Simon Cowell to thank for his meteoric rise to fame with One Direction, fans might not have guessed that his former mentor is who Louis would turn to in the wake of his mother’s death.
Louis revealed, “He’s one of the people I take advice from and speak to in those moments. I’m really lucky I’ve got such a good relationship with Simon.”
Although they have a great relationship, Louis admitted that he hasn’t always been the easiest person to work with, explaining, “I don’t like to stick to the rules and neither does Simon, so for the first 18 months after meeting I must have been a pain in the a**e.”
Louis’ mother, Johannah, had kept her illness a secret from the public despite it being an ongoing battle, but fans rallied around Louis and his family after they released a statement revealing the tragic news.
