The 1975 Billboards Honouring Lil Peep Popped Up In London Overnight

The billboard popped up overnight in London.

The 1975 have posted billboards in honour of Lil Peep, the emo rapper who died last year.

As previously reported, The 1975 announced that their next single 'Love It If We Made It' will be released this Thursday (July 19). When making the announcement, the band sent out a letter to various people with a lyric sheet which included a shout out to Lil Peep: "Poison me daddy / I got the jones right through my bones / Write it on a piece of stone / A beach of drowning 3 year olds / Rest in peace Lil Peep / The poetry is in the streets".

At the moment it looks like only one billboard has been found, in the borough of Hackney in London, but it's likely that more have been posted.

The band also released a trailer for the new song on Instagram last night (July 17) which featured visuals of Lil Peep.

'Love It If We Made It' will be taken from the band's third album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, due for release in October. A fourth album, Notes on a Conditional Form, will follow next year.

Lil Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, passed away late last year (November 15) at the age of 21 from a fentanyl and Xanax overdose. According to Pitchfork, he also tested positive for "painkillers and tranquilizers including benzodiazepines and tramadol, as well as cocaine and marijuana”.
