Paramore's Hayley Williams announces Petals for Armor solo project with new video

Petals for Armor will be Hayley Williams' first official music as a soloist outside of Paramore and features for other artists.

Hayley Williams has announced the release date and title of her new solo music. Petals for Armor is coming out January 22.

Last year (Dec 28), Hayley Williams surprised by Paramore fans by announcing that she would be releasing solo music at the start of 2020. Taking to her social media pages, Hayley explained: "30 was a very important year. 31 will be too. I'm putting out some music next year. With the help of some of my closest friends, I made something I'm going to call my own."

Hayley then added: "It's a really special project and you'll get a taste of it in January." Now, Hayley has started officially teasing the solo project and she's revealed that the first taste of it is dropping in less than two weeks on January 22.

Anticipation for Hayley's new music went into overdrive on Monday (Jan 6), when Hayley posted three plain black images on Instagram. Hayley then added to the hype by sharing a link to a website called petalsforarmor.com. If you click on the link, a short video comes up in which you can see a forest at night and hear heavy breathing. It then shows the date: "1.22.2020".

If that weren't enough, fans have also spotted posters in New York City of Hayley with Petals for Armor and the site written on them. In other words, it looks like Hayley either has an album called Petals for Armor coming out and she's giving us her first song from it this month, or the single is called 'Petals for Armor' and we'll find out more about the project later.

In August 2019, Hayley told ET that Paramore had no plans to release new music. She said: "I really don’t know what’s next for Paramore. The guys and I just had dinner the other night at my house. I think we’re just really enjoying being friends and adult human beings at home by ourselves without music." She later confirmed that the band were taking a break.

With Paramore on hiatus, we couldn't be more excited to hear Hayley's solo music. Bring on January 22.
