It looks a sequel to 'Strangers' is actually coming...
It's no secret that Halsey and Lauren Jauregui are great friends. As well as collaborating on lowkey one of the greatest duets of all time ('Strangers' is that bitch), the two chart-topping superstars are consistently supportive of each other both on and off social media. Lauren even opened for Halsey on the Latin American leg of her hopeless fountain kingdom world tour in June this year.
Halsey reveals she wants to work on a musical with Brendon Urie (EXCLUSIVE)
Earlier this week, we quizzed Halsey about whether or not another Halsey and Lauren collaboration is on the cards. In her words, she said: "I'm sure Lauren and I will make music again. Oh yeah absolutely. We just have such a good chemistry. We love performing together. It's definitely inevitable." Our hearts.
Halsey then opened up about how she actually wants to get in the studio with Lauren this time. "I wrote 'Strangers' and then put her on it. She was so perfect for the song but it was almost such a shame because I know what a talented writer she is. So I'd love to get in the room and make something with her organically. I'm sure that'll end up happening." We're ready.
The 'Without Me' hitmaker also praised Lauren's upcoming solo music: "I've heard some of it. I was peeping it on the tour." and talked about how excited she is to watch Lauren thrive solo. "I love that she's finally getting to navigate this path as a solo artist 'cause she's getting to write and write from purely her own perspective." If 'Expectations' is anything to go by, we're in for a treat.
Halsey also revealed that she phoned Lauren when 'Expectations' came out. "I called her when she dropped 'Expectations' and I had already heard it and been excited for the release but one of the things I said to her on that day is 'How lucky are you that you get to feel this all over again." She also said "I hope you just cherish this moment and remember that this is such a blessing".
Halsey then added: "I would give anything to go back in time and be putting out music for the first time. It's an unbelievable feeling and she's getting to do it all over again in such a special way. It's like getting to have your first kiss again." It's okay we're crying too.
"It's so cool. I'm so happy for her."
Okay now not only do we need that 'Strangers' sequel asap but we also need Halsey to call us for pep talks daily. What an incredible friend.
