Twenty One Pilots fans are calling out The Chainsmokers for "copying" The Bandito Tour with The World War Joy Tour.
Twenty One Pilots and The Chainsmokers are both currently headlining two massive world tours. Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun launched The Bandito Tour in October 2018 in support of their fifth album Trench and they are still selling out shows now. Meanwhile, Alex Pall and Drew Taggert kicked off The World War Joy Tour on Wednesday (Sep 25), alongside their popular 'Who Do You Love' and 'Takeaway' collaborators: 5 Seconds of Summer and Lennon Stella.

Both tours have received critical acclaim from fans and critics alike. However, The Chainsmokers are now facing controversy over allegations of plagiarising elements from Twenty One Pilots' tour. In fact, the accusations are so widespread that even Josh's fiancée, Insatiable star Debby Ryan, has weighed in on the comparisons.
As soon as photos and videos from The Chainsmokers first The World War Joy Tour show began surfacing online this week, the skeleton clique began noticing similarities between The Chainsmokers' tour and TØP's tour, which Tyler and Josh have been performing for over a year now. From the staging (both concerts feature real flame torches) to the actual stage (both concerts feature floating walkways), there are parallels between the staging.
Tweets about each tour range from: "ok you cannot call THIS just a trend that a lot of bands/ artists are doing. this is a very distinct, UNIQUE, twenty one pilots thing and the chainsmokers are just... ripping it off... jesus christ" to "twenty one pilots tickets got sold out? no worries! the chainsmokers are gonna put on a show exactly like the one you wanted". TØP fans aren't impressed.
On top of that, Debby Ryan, who's been engaged to Josh since December 2018, has waded into the drama. The former Disney star responded to a recent comment from a fan on Instagram who asked her: "ok but how do you feel about the chainsmokers literally copying everything Tyler and Josh do". Debby replied to the fan by simply writing: "who".
