Billie has been vocal about her love of the rapper in the past and has previously spoken about the backlash she received for mourning him.
In an interview with The New York Times, Billie spoke about the criticism she had got last year after posting a tribute to the controversial rapper. In life, XXXTentacion faced legal troubles stemming from domestic abuse charges, harassment and witness tampering. The charges were dropped following his death but that it is not the same as being found not guilty.
Billie said that she just wanted to mourn her friend in peace and doesn't think she deserved the "hate" she got over it.
"I want to be able to mourn, I don’t want to be shamed for it," said the singer.
“I don’t think I deserve getting hate for loving someone that passed.”
