Lindsay was seriously pressed about how much Zendaya's Cinderella gown looked like Claire Danes' Zac Posen dress from 2016 Met Gala.
While our Lord and Saviour Zendaya might have served one of the internet's favourite looks at the 2019 Met Gala on Monday night (May 6), there was one person who didn't give it their royal seal of approval: Lindsay Lohan.
Sticking to the event's 'Camp' theme (extravagant, over-the-top, exaggerated and theatrical), Zendaya channeled her inner Disney Princess by rocking up in a dress identical to Cinderella's blue ball gown - but with a gag-worthy twist. The dress, which was created by Tommy Hilfiger, appeared as dull grey when Zendaya walked the carpet until a wand was waved and it started to light up and turn blue. At the end of the transformation, Zendaya's entire dress was glowing.
Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner's Met Gala outfits are being roasted
But Lindsay Lohan was not (!) into it. In fact, she even expressed her disapproval of Zendaya's look on Instagram, calling her out for copying Claire Dane's iconic light up Met Gala moment from 2016.
Met Gala's apparent number one fashion carpet critic Lindsay was pressed over the fact that Zendaya's Hilfiger look was very similar to the gown that Claire Danes wore for the 2016 "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" theme. Claire's dress at that event was designed by Zac Posen, FYI.
Here's a picture of the 2016 look:
For anyone who is an avid Met Gala red carpet live-tweeter, the comparisons between the two dresses would have been almost immediate. But unlike the rest of the internet, who loved both looks, Lindsay felt the need to call Zendaya out.
Dragging Zendaya's dress on DisneyLifeStylers's post, Lindsay wrote: "Claire Danes did that with @ZacPosen already," and then followed it up with a pretty harsh comment about Zendaya herself.
"@ClaireDanes, you wore this dress so beautifully," she wrote. "I don’t know why someone thinks that they can be more chic. Ever."
Honestly, what is happening? (And also, who knew that Lindsay Lohan was such a Claire Danes stan?)
Listen, both ladies were chic, Lindsay! Both served! And more importantly: BOTH WERE ON THEME! This is a "No Zendaya Slander" zone!
