Vans have launched a line of milk tea inspired designs for their iconic Old Skool shoe. Milk tea (sometimes known as bubble tea, pearl milk tea or boba milk tea) is a Taiwanese tea-based beverage containing chewy tapioca or jelly balls.
The sneakers come in three muted nude tones complete with a crisp white sole and black piping. "Milk Foam" is a light nude colour, "Hazelnut" is a darker peachy tone and "Smoked Milk Tea" is a soft greige. For now, the designs are only available at Taiwanese shop Fruition and they retail for around £66, or $79.
That's not the only new design coming from Vans, though, the fashion brand has created a range for kids and adults living with autism. Not only are the designs sensory-inclusive, but a minimum of $100,000 of the proceeds will be donated to A.skate, a non-profit organisation that allows children with autism to receive skateboarding lessons in an environment equipped for their sensory needs.
