Um…we don't know where to look right now.
When it comes to advertising, we already know that sex sells. But NARS Cosmetics has pushed some people too far with its latest phallic campaign. The French beauty brand just introduced their new line of After Hours lipsticks and they…kind of look like a penis.

NARS posted an ad for the lipstick on Instagram and it's making everyone blush. In the video, a nude lipstick is shown against a minimal black background. The lipstick appears melted at first (like a veiny penis) before slowly coming together and solidifying into a normal tube of lipstick with "NARS" stamped into it. Honestly, it's just lipstick.
The caption didn't help tone down the smut either. The brand wrote: "When the nudes keep you up all night. Reach the dawn with Morocco Lipstick, a warm cinnamon."
Now, using sex appeal as a product theme is actually nothing new for NARS. With "Deep Throat" blush, "Climax" mascara and even an entire "Orgasm Collection", the brand is hardly for the prudish consumer.
WoW.

Remind me NOT to purchase anything NARS sells.
This is too far.
Teenage girls make most makeup purchases.
I wouldn't want my kid thinking this ad was cool.
🤨
I’m tired of NARS overly sexualising makeup it’s so unnecessary and tacky, just stop https://t.co/bG3nTpA5uS

Nars know sex sells and they’ve stuck to it, eg. their product names - ‘orgasm’ palette, ‘deep throat’ blush, ‘climax’ mascara. It works for them, doesn’t come off tacky and gets people talking. Genius. https://t.co/y4B5TzTQZC

nars: *has the iconic ‘orgasm’ blush*

everyone: ok ya
nars: *melts a lipstick*
everyone: IN MY GOOD CHRISTIAN HOUSEHOLD?
watching people freak out over this like Nars hasn't been using sex appeal in their brand marketing and concepts since inception is hilarious https://t.co/PwhcXbajCQ
