Whitney Houston's Family Thank Fans For "Outpouring Of Love And Support"

The late singer's family say they are "devastated" by the singer's sudden death this weekend in Los Angeles.

Whitney Houston's family have released a public statement following the singer's death yesterday (11th February) at the age of 48.

The 'I Will Always Love You' singer was pronounced dead yesterday at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles after emergency services were called to her room, and since news of her death tributes have been pouring in across the world. 

"We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney," the Houston family said in their statement. "This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. 

"We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends. – The Houston Family." 

Whitney Houston is survived by her mother Cissy Houston, 18 year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina and cousin and fellow singer Dionne Warwick.

Rihanna, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey and Jessie J are just some of the many celebrities who have posted tribute messages to the 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' singer on Twitter since yesterday.

Jennifer Hudson is expected to take to the stage at the Grammy Awards tonight (12th February) in Los Angeles for a Whitney Houston tribute performance.
