Robbie's tearful performance closes The BRITs

Who better to close the BRITs than Robbie Williams? But it appears the honour brought a nostalgic tear to the Robster's eyes.

Robbie Williams has told us backstage that his show-closing finale brought a tear to his eye.

 There were a lot of happy faces, said the star breathlessly. Seeing the smiles coming back I got very nostalgic. There was a tear in the old glass eye.

 Rich and Kat also quizzed the star on the rather controversial move of NOT stripping to his pants for his rendition of Rock DJ.

 2010 has been the year of the carb, joked the frontman. By the end of the year I shall be in my pants again. Ive got to do it once before its too late.
