Cardi B caused controversy for telling a reporter: "I hope your f*cking mum catches AIDS bitch".
Queer Eye grooming specialist Jonathan Van Ness has criticised Cardi B for her recent "troublesome" remarks about AIDS.
Cardi B is no stranger to controversy. Over the course of the past few months alone, the 27-year-old artist has been accused of fatphobia, transphobia and homophobia. Cardi has since apologised for some of her "offensive" comments but she's now coming under fire for telling Access Hollywood: "I hope your f*cking mum catches AIDS bitch".
She made the remarks after the news outlet falsely claimed that Cardi's daughter Kulture calls someone else "mummy" because she works so much.

Now Jonathan Van Ness has revealed that he sent Cardi B a lengthy DM on Instagram asking her to apologise.
Speaking to Gay Times, Jonathan explained: "I literally sent her the longest DM, I was like ‘I’m always going to really like you and I know you’ve got a lot going on. It really sucks when people say untrue and awful things about you, and I’ve totally had the same thing happen but to a much lesser degree. With your platform, it was so troublesome and problematic for you to say that and it’s so hurtful, and I really hope you apologise and do some work around that. I love you.’”
Jonathan then went on to say that he wants to do "personal work" to help educate people like Cardi B instead of cancelling them. "She’s such a hard worker. She represents so much for so many people and has so many inspiring parts to her story. Like, she had a bad moment and got heated, but I do think that occasion was really hurtful and bad, but should I… like, I don’t know, it’s tough."
He added that he wants to avoid the "itch of cancelling someone".
Cardi is yet to publicly apologise for her comments about AIDS. We shall update you if she does.
