The former contestant speaks about rumours that the 'Right There' singer may step down from her judging role.
Rylan Clark has confessed that he thought Nicole Scherzinger "made" the show on last year's X Factor and has to return again in 2013.
Speculation on the line-up for this year's show has been rife for months with talk of Tulisa being axed and Sharon Osbourne returning to the frame.
Nicole has also kept quiet on her plans, but the Essex star would love to see her in the judge's seat once more.
I think Nicole should stay. I think she made The X Factor last year, I think she is the most amazing mentor anyone could ask for," he told Metro. "I am still very good friends with her.
"I hope she comes back. I wouldn’t rule it out," he added.
Rylan himself has been linked with a return to the show as presenter of the ITV2 spin-off Xtra Factor.
"There are a lot of rumours going about," he added. "I have no idea what I am doing yet. Obviously I am flattered because I have just come off The X Factor and if I am being rumoured to be part of Xtra Factor then that is amazing, it's something I'd love to do but nothing is official."
Nicole is also currently working on her new studio album and recently said she was "torn" between an X Factor return of completely focusing on her music.
