Nicole Scherzinger Says Mum Banned Her From Shaving Legs: "It Was So Embarrassing!"

The 'Boomerang' singer has opened up on her strict upbringing before finding fame as a singer.

Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that her mum banned her from shaving her legs during her childhood and says it was "so embarrassing".

The 'Try With Me' singer opened up about her 'conservative" upbringing in a new interview this week, as well as talking about the pressure to look good of all the time.

"I came from a conservative background, I didn't wear lots of make-up at a young age," Nicole revealed to OK! magazine this week. "My mum made me have hairy freaking legs forever!

"She didn't let me shave, it was so embarrassing," Nicole recalled. "I said, 'I'm not going to do this to my kid', but I probably will do the same thing to my kid!'

The 'Boomerang' star went on to talk about always being in the public eye, and some of her tricks for avoiding unflattering pictures being taken by paparazzi photographers.

"It sucks because there's loads of scrutiny, but as long as you take care of yourself and get rest, there's nothing that a nice lipgloss and pair of sunnies couldn't fix if you get papped!" Nicole added.

This week the US star also opened up about her future on The X Factor UK, admitting she is "torn" about whether to return for a second year in case it has a negative impact on her music career.
