The 'Try With Me' singer says it has been a character building time since her split from the driving star.
Nicole Scherzinger has opened up about her struggle to move on from the end of her relationship with Formula One star Lewis Hamilton, and sys it has been "hard to keep it together'.
The 'Boomerang' singer split from her boyfriend of five years back in July this year and says while she has had "dark moments" she has also tried hard to be positive and move on with her life.
"It's these times that build a character," Nicole reveals in the October issue of Glamour. "I tried had to keep it together, for my work.
"I'm just like every other woman, I've had a blanket of tissues over me many a night," she explained. "Ordered a random, ginormous pizza for myself.
"In any relationship it's easy to lose yourself and it's important to come back to who you are, and you can live your life in freedom and happiness when you're happy with who you are."
"I definitely have my dark moments but I wanna be a light," Nicole explained. "That's what I strive to be, and really, it's a choice."
