Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan confirm new collaboration and it sounds iconic

Shawn and Niall have been teasing a duet for years...

It is no secret that Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan are great friends. Ever since the two superstars shot to fame, via Vine and One Direction respectfully, they've always been incredibly supportive of each other both in and out of the public eye. They're adorable. In addition to praising each other's work, Shawn and Niall regularly hangout together and genuinely seem like two of the nicest guys in the entire music industry.

With that in mind, it's no surprise that Shawn and Niall fans are desperate for the two artists to join forces on a song. Seeing as they are both so talented, a collaboration seems like a no brainer. Plus they have even sung 'Mercy' together before and their voices compliment each other perfectly. Niall and Shawn fans can rejoice because it has finally been confirmed that a duet between the pair is actually happening.

Taking to Twitter last night (Jan. 21), Niall answered a variety of fan questions including what show he's watching right now ('‘You’. It’s mad but great') and his goals for this year ('have a number 1 album and a couple of big singles'). He also answered the one question that's been on everyone's lips: "niall will you ever give us a song with shawn?" His response? "We’re going to try."

Amazing but not exactly official right? Well, right after, Shawn put any doubt to rest by retweeting his comment saying: "We ARE going to!" and Niall tweeted back "Let’s do it then". In other words, the Shawn and Niall collaboration that we've been hoping and praying for for years is a thing that is real and is coming and it is going to be incredible.

Given that Niall has already revealed that he intends to release an album this year and a couple of big singles, hopefully that means he will get Shawn to feature on one of them or even hop in the studio with him ASAP and record something new for the project. Who knows? Maybe it's done already and they are teasing us.
