Although his debut single may have gone straight to the Big Top 40 top spot, but it seems that Matt Cardle's record boss Simon Cowell will turn his attention to his other new signing in 2011- One Direction.

It has been reported that Simon Cowell hopes to turn the five-piece into global superstars in 2011. The band have already been compared to 'five Justin Biebers' by industry insiders and Cowell has already sent them to Los Angeles to meet producers and songwriters.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "They are getting stuck in and will put out a first single this spring. Then hear the cash register chime."
