Madonna Turns 55 As Katy Perry And Britney Spears Lead Birthday Twitter Messages

The 'MDNA' singer turned 55 this week and has been sent well wishes by some of her pop peers.

Katy Perry and Britney Spears have both taken to Twitter to send their messages of celebration to Madonna on her birthday.

The 'Like A Prayer' singer turned 55 yesterday (16th August) and both stars have send her a special birthday message to mark the occasion.

"HAPPY DAY OF BIRTH MADGE!" Katy tweeted last night. "Us pop stars bow down to you, you've taught us so much!!!.

"Happy birthday M!!!" Britney also posted. "Hope you're a happy girl.

"Singing you your birthday song," she wrote, alongside a snap of the two shortly after their collaboration on 'Me Against The Music."

Last month Madonna was forced to deny rumours she has already started work on a new album, following the 2012 release of her latest offering 'MDNA'.
