TV bosses are keen to bring 'Down For Whatever' star back to the programme.
Kelly Rowland is on course to return to The X Factor as a judge this year, it's been reported.
The 'Down For Whatever' star's position on the panel had been in doubt in recent months amid reports that she was tired of the programme.
But X Factor bosses are understood to still be discussing the possibility of bringing the former Destiny's Child singer back for a second series.
A source told The Sun: "It seems to be taken as read that Kelly is not coming back but that is wrong. Simon Cowell and executive producer Richard Holloway were very pleased with her on last year's show and would have her back.
"It's at an early stage and discussions have yet to start. But Kelly is still very much in the mix."
A friend of Kelly is also quoted as saying that she would like to return to the programme, which last year was also judged by Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos.
The X Factor is currently recruiting for contestants for this year's series.
