Katy B: 'I auditioned to be Hermione in Harry Potter'

Katy B has revealed she once auditoned for the part of Hermione Granger in Harry Potter.

The dubstep star admitted that as well as singing she has a history of performing in theatre.

The 21-year-old said she once auditioned for the play Annie in the West End when she was just eight before having a crack at the Harry Potter role.

'I auditioned to be Hermione in Harry Potter,' she told The Guardian. 'They were like, 'Have you read the book?' I was like, 'No.' [They shouted] 'Next!'

The singer, who has already scored two Top 10 hits, also said that she once worked in JD Sports before she got a record deal.

Her debut album 'On A Mission' is out next Monday (04.4).
