Melanie Martinez reveals plans for two more movies after K-12

In a new interview with People, Melanie Martinez revealed she plans to release a K-12 sequel and another movie after that.

Melanie Martinez released the follow up to her 2015 album, Crybaby, last week. K-12 landed on 6 September and the singer also dropped a 90-minute film to accompany the release. The K-12 movie, which was shot in Europe last year, marks Melanie's feature-length directorial debut at 24-years-old. Now, Melanie has revealed that two more films are in the works.

In an interview with People, Melanie Martinez dropped some details about a planned follow up to K-12, which is big news considering the four-year gap between Crybaby and K-12.

Melanie told People that she's looking ahead to even more extended visuals that will accompany her music. She said: "I have my next film planned out, as far as what I want to do – and the film after that and they both have albums attached to them."

"Hopefully it will be faster this time. It won't be like, four years. Just because, I've done it at least once so now I'm past all those learning curves that I had to kind of reach and figure out."

As reported by Variety, Melanie's label Atlantic Records initially wanted to invest $2 million into the project before eventually agreeing to put in between $5-6 million dollars.

In addition to the K-12 movie, Melanie is reportedly in talks with YouTube to release a behind-the- scenes-look at the project.

As of 10 September, Melanie's K-12 movie has been viewed on YouTube 14.7 million times in just four days.

Melanie Martinez will kick start her K-12 tour in Atlanta on 13 October. She'll remain on the road for two months for dates across North America and Europe.
