The 'Hottest Girl In The World' singer is unrecognisable after being made-up to promote the park's newest ride.

JLS star Aston Merrygold has undergone a radical transformation to promote a new rollercoaster at Alton Towers theme park.

The 'She Makes Me Wanna' singer was made-up with prosthetics and special effects to promote new attraction The Smiler, and is seen showing off over-stretched cheeks and a sinister smile in the official promotional images released today (2nd April).

The ride opens at the park this May and promises to give customers a unique experience, both physically and mentally, costing the park a reported £18 million to create.

"I had a shock when I looked in the mirror for the first time," Aston said alongside the release. "It was definitely an extreme transformation and shows how intense The Smiler is going to be.

"Alton Towers says the ride is going to 'marmalise' you, making you feel spaced out and mashed up and judging by the way I look in these images I'd say that is pretty spot on.

"I'm a massive roller coaster fan and can't wait to experience the real thing when the ride opens in May."

The Smiler is said to features 40m drops, extreme twists and high speeds, as well as psychological effects like blinding lights and optical illusions.

Last week Aston's bandmate Marvin Humes, who recently joined Capital FM as a new presenter, said the band will be putting on longer live shows when they launch their new tour this autumn.

JLS are also expected to begin working on their fifth studio album in the coming weeks.
