Lady Gaga fans think Halsey's new single sounds exactly like You and I

People are also saying that 'Finally // beautiful stranger' sounds a lot like 'Two Ghosts' by Harry Styles too.

Halsey is back with another single and fans think that 'Finally // beautiful stranger' sounds like Lady Gaga and Harry Styles.

Halsey recently revealed that she would be releasing her highly anticipated third studio album Manic in January and, just this week, she unveiled the tracklist. The record includes songs titled 'I Hate Everybody', 'More' and 'Killing Boys', alongside her hits 'Without Me' and 'Graveyard'. Not only that but it includes features from Alanis Morisette and SUGA from BTS.

Today (Dec 6), Halsey released two songs from the project: 'SUGA's Interlude' and her brand new single 'Finally // beautiful stranger'. Reception to both songs has been overwhelmingly positive (they're both incredibly vulnerable). However, people are now saying 'Finally // beautiful stranger' sounds a lot like 'You and I' by Lady Gaga and 'Two Ghosts' by Harry Styles'.

'Finally // beautiful stranger' is a striking acoustic ballad about being unlucky in romance and "finally" meeting someone you can trust and really "fall" in love with. Halsey sings: "Beautiful stranger, here you are in my arms and I know / That beautiful strangers only come along to do me wrong / And I hope, beautiful stranger here you are in my arms / But I think it's finally, finally, finally, finally, finally safe / For me to fall".

The song is completely stripped-back and almost country-esque and fans are noticing similarities between the melody and production and those of 'You and I' by Lady Gaga and 'Two Ghosts' by Harry Styles'. One fan tweeted: "why does the new halsey song sound exactly like gaga’s you and I." Meanwhile, another one wrote: "new halsey song is beaut but it proper sounds like two ghosts".

Halsey is a big fan of Gaga and Harry, so there is a chance that she could have been inspired by both artists when she wrote the track. That being said, we have no doubt that she had no intention of copying either artist. Almost all songs sound like other songs these days and we imagine that many of the similarities are mere coincidence.
